About me
Hello, my name is Eliza Styles. My goal is to create beautiful, well considered designs, continuously learning more and collaborating with other like-minded individuals in my mission to become the best designer that I can be. I am passionate about designing a wide range of products, as I enjoy improving my skill set and stepping out of my comfort zone. I am particularly passionate about furniture and homeware design and I am very inspired by other furniture designs and designers. Some words that sum up my character are; driven, genuine, passionate, inspired, creative, imaginative, and compassionate.

I am an industrial designer who has studied a Bachelor of Design (Industrial Design) at the University of Canberra over the past three years. I have designed a diverse range of products during this time. This range of experience has expanded my skill set and compelled me to problem solve and create in new ways. I pride myself on working through the entire design process to design products with clean lines, detail and functionality. My experience has taught me the value of collaborative team work as well as the value of constructive criticism to hone my ideas into the best possible design outcome. Sustainability is also key to my process as I believe truly good design not only solves problems of form and function but is also kinder to the world.

I have achieved so far, my ongoing study in my bachelor of design, recognition and publicity from a large industry group project (ID7 Eyewear), which is currently being considered for an exhibition and coverage in an article on the project. Some of my other works have been featured on the UC design Instagram account, another piece featured in an exhibition in Braddon and featured in another article. In a small team, I collaborated and created Futuro Awards for the 2020 ceremony, which were presented to selected UC staff and were featured at the award ceremony. These projects were really exciting, took me out of my comfort zone, but showed me how hard work pays off and it really spurs me on to strive to achieve more.

If myself and my work sound interesting to you, please feel free to look closer at some of my projects on my work page here on the website or contact me via my contacts page, so we can discuss more on our shared passion for good design.
