About me
Hello, my name is Eliza Styles. My goal is to create beautiful, well considered designs, continuously learning more and collaborating with like-minded individuals in my mission to become the best designer that I can be. I am passionate about designing a wide range of products, as I enjoy improving my skill set and stepping out of my comfort zone. I am particularly passionate about furniture and homeware design and I am very inspired by other furniture designs and designers. Some words that sum up my character are; driven, genuine, passionate, inspired, creative, imaginative, and compassionate.

I am an industrial designer who completed a Bachelor of Design (Industrial Design) at the University of Canberra in 2021. I have created a diverse range of designs, which has expanded my skill set and compelled me to problem solve and create in new ways. I pride myself on working through the entire design process to design products with clean lines, detail and functionality. My experiences have taught me the value of collaborative team work as well as the value of constructive criticism to hone my ideas into the best possible design outcome. Sustainability is also key to my process as I believe truly good design not only solves problems of form and function but is also kinder to the world.

I have achieved so far, completion of my bachelor of design, recognition and publicity from a large industry group project (ID7 Eyewear). Another design piece (moo table) featured in two exhibitions and featured in another article. In a small team, I collaborated and created Futuro Awards for the 2020 award ceremony for university staff.

After completing my degree, I worked full-time as a designer/draftsperson at HDM Metal for 2.5 years. I worked as part of a design team where we would collaborate and/or work individually to measure and assess projects on worksites and architecturals, then create custom CAD models and drafts for production of client projects. These designs would be created in Solid Edge and then be produced at the in-house workshop space and installed on-site by our on-site teams.

If myself and my work sound interesting to you, please feel free to look closer at some of my projects on my work page here or contact me via my contacts page.
